By submitting your home for a chance to be chosen as a featured Backyard BBQ, entrant understands that the Backyard BBQ begins 6/15 and ends 9/1/11; KATU will choose the date that your home will be featured, if that date does not satisfy entrant or does not work with their schedule, entrant will forfeit being selected for the Barbeque at their home, however they will still be entered to win the grand prize; KATU will then select an alternate entrant to fill that date slot.
Outback Steakhouse will feed up to 50 people at the Backyard BBQ. Beverages, tables, seating and dessert will be the responsibility of winner.
KATU will bring a banner to the Backyard BBQ, this will need to be set up in the entrants backyard.
Backyard must have enough room for KATU and Outback crew plus any friends or family (max 50 people) that will be attending. KATU will do live weather hits from Backyard 4-7pm, however entrant must be ready for KATU or Outback crew to set up at 1pm on the day their home will be used for the Backyard BBQ.
All homes subject to site check to make sure a clear signal can be received and transmitted for the LIVE coverage. If a clear signal cannot be achieved, KATU will need to pick an alternate entrant.
No purchase necessary. Only one submission will be permitted per household and per email address.
You must be 18 years of age or older at time of entry to be eligible for this contest. This contest is void where prohibited by law.
You must be a resident of Oregon or SW Washington to participate and within KATU’s coverage area.
Grand prize winner will be drawn on Friday, September 2nd and announced on AM NW (9-9:30am) the winner will then be notified by phone. If winner is unreachable within 24 hours of initial contact, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected.
Winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form 1099M. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold prizes until completed form 1099M is received. Total prize value: $2,720.
No substitution or cash redemption allowed. Prize may not be sold or traded and is non-transferable.
Prize must be picked up at KATU (2153 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland OR) during normal business hours M-F 8:30am - 5:00pm by Friday, September 9, 2011. Prize cannot be mailed to winner.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
KATU-TV, Outback Steakhouse, Lisac’s Fireplaces & Stoves and Dennis' 7 Dees reserve the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value.
KATU-TV reserves the right to restrict the local winners to only persons whose primary residence is within a 60 mile radius of the affiliate's office.
Employees of KATU-TV, Outback Steakhouse, Lisac’s Fireplaces & Stoves and Dennis' 7 Dees , its parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, advertising agencies and the immediate family members of each are not eligible to participate in the contest.
Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.
Entrants further grant KATU-TV, Outback Steakhouse, Lisac’s Fireplaces & Stoves and Dennis' 7 Dees the right to use and publish their proper name and state on-air, online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the contest.

All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to phone call.
This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
